Opening symposium Friday May 23
Program
As part of the opening ceremony, there will be a symposium, open for the general public. We are happy to announce that the following people have already agreed to give a lecture:
- Prof. dr. Gerard 't Hooft
- Prof. dr. Stephen Hawking *
- Prof. dr. Immanuel Bloch
Location
The symposium will be held in the Beatrix Theater, Jaarbeursplein 6a in Utrecht.

Make sure that you arrive on time, making sure you have enough time to get your ticket registered and find a seat.
Tickets
Unfortunately, tickets have already been sold out.
We would like to remind everyone that selling a ticket for a profit makes this ticket invalid, as per our terms and conditions. We are currently examining possibilities to track down all the tickets sold for profit and will nullify all tickets sold for commercial gain. We shall not inform the buyer of the ticket of this nullification.

If prof. Hawking were to be absent due to health issues, can I get a refund?
If prof. Hawking or any other lecturer were to be absent, you will not be entitled for a full or partial refund. Please keep in mind that due to health issues, there is a real chance for prof. Hawking to be absent. For more information, please read our terms and conditions.Do I have a fixed seat?
No, based on the available seats you will either have a seat in the balcony or in the main hall. On the symposium you can choose your own seat.Will there be a break?
Yes, there will be a break long enough to buy a drink at the theater's bar or smoke a cigarette.Is it possible to ask questions to the lecturers
Because of the size of the audience, this will only be possible on basis of invitation.I bought a ticket, but I can't make it to the symposium. Can I get a refund?
No, unfortunately tickets cannot be refunded.Can I get a discount?
There are no discounts on any tickets for anyone. Group discount or specific discount cards do not apply either.I can only make it to part of the program, is that possible?
It is possible to leave the symposium earlier during the break. It is not possible to arrive after 13:00.What will the lectures be about?
An indication of the subject of the lecture by Professor Hawking is "The Universe as a Hologram". The topics of the lectures by Professor 't Hooft and Professor Bloch will be announced soon.How many tickets can I buy?
You can buy up to a total of 5 tickets (depending on the number of available tickets). You can order one batch of ticket per unique email address.I am in a wheelchair. Can I go to the symposium?
Unfortunately, there are no wheelchair seats available anymore.I'm a participant. Do I have to buy a ticket?
All participants will be given the needed tickets on arrival, so you don't have to buy a ticket.I would like to make photographs of the symposium. Is that allowed?
Unfortunately making photographs is not allowed. However, photographs will be made and they will be published online.What are the terms and conditions for each ticket?
